Meet our Resident Mindfulness-Based Psychotherpist
Judith Greenfarb, LMSW, RYT
Hello I am Judith Greenfarb, LMSW, RYT, I am a mental health therapist, yoga instructor, and
wellness practitioner. I am originally from New Jersey, but am so happy to call Charleston my
home for almost 20 years. I received my Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work from Fordham
University in New York. I am also certified in Family and Children Counseling from Fordham.
After graduating, I counseled in the Carole G. Simon Cancer Center in Morristown Memorial
Hospital for several years were I conducted groups and also saw patients in a private practice.
Once moving to Charleston I worked at MUSC in trauma and addiction. I also have worked with
the Department of Juvenile Justice, where I counseled boys in group homes. I have also been
an advocate for Domestic Violence working with a program in Columbia counseling women that
were imprisoned for killing there abusers.
About 6 years ago Yoga came into my life when I needed to find a calmness and an inner
peace. I decided to become a certified yoga instructor. I now teach children's yoga to
elementary schools and children with special needs. My life changed and the way I practiced
psychotherapy changed, I now have a more holistic vision when treating my patients. I
incorporate the yoga philosophy into my practice and the mindfulness piece. Through
mindfulness-based treatment I can help you to empower yourself to overcome the pain that you
are feeling in your life. With this approach you will find a balance in your life for you will learn not
to just care for your thoughts in your mind but to also care for your body and your spirit.
I have experience with children, teens, adults, and families. Visit my website and for more
